Our garden map highlights the various geographical and special garden areas that are featured throughout the Preserve. The map’s legend provides information about the type of surfaces and terrain that exist along the trails.

Most of our Preserve is hillside, so bring your hiking shoes!  Enjoy the beautiful views and the tranquility of the gardens as you walk along the pathways.  Many vistas present themselves just around the corner with views the of rolling hills of South Orange County and Saddleback Mountain.

For your safety and that of our plants, please stay on the designated trails. No bikes or e-bikes are allowed.  Dogs are allowed on leashes but must remain on our trails.

Copies of the garden map are available in our brochure, which can be found at several locations throughout the Preserve. Please take one when you visit and learn more about the Niguel Botanical Preserve.

Come see our blooms!

Our peak bloom season is December through May, coinciding with the winter rains.  From June – November, many plants from our Mediterranean climates go dormant to protect themselves during the dry summer months.  No matter what time of year you visit, there are always beautiful plants to see.
